Share-Net Ethiopia organized a project launching workshop to sensitize stakeholders on Sexual Reproductive Health issues. The workshop was held at Inter Luxury hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 12, 2021.
The primary aim of organizing the workshop was to discuss with primary stakeholders on SRH and facilitate the implementation of the project through coordinated force. The launching of the workshop also aimed at enhancing stakeholders’ involvement to promote the issues of SRH and build capacity through media promotion, researches, and task implementations. The workshop brought together participants from various media outlets, universities, and other organizations.
Mr. Abebe Kebede; Share-Net Ethiopia Project Director opened the discussion. During his remark, he emphasized the role of institutionalizing the agenda of SRH would bring a change together with this project. Following the opening remarks, Mr. Dejene Getahun presented about the project goals and activities to be implemented followed by Mr. Semenhe Fekadu presented the concept of community practice and previous experiences related to sexual and reproductive health technical working groups.
Participants were able to enhance and refine their knowledge through this workshop. The project has had a long-lasting impact as the newly acquired knowledge was passed on to professionals with a diverse network. As next steps, Gender and SRHR, and Adolescent and Youth Health are selected as CoP topics to start with.
Finally, this workshop supports stakeholders’ contribution and promotion of SRH and fosters advocacy works, dialogue, and sustainable health development.
